The Swing Cats are a live Swing band with a difference; their set list is focused on the more uptempo hits from the swing dance era of the 1940’s and 1950’s. featuring tracks from artists such as Luis Prima from the movie {Jungle Book} Luis Jordan’s {Choo Choo Ch’Boogie} and Bobby Darin {Beyond the Sea}.
While also immersed in the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr and other such legends from the golden age of American big band swing music. The Swing Cats have drawn on these icons as their main influences but have put quite their own unique contemporary twist on this music which has given them a unique brand of high energy swing dance music that gets all ages on the dance floor from the beginning until the end of any occasion.
A fully live band comprising of some of Ireland’s top musicians they can tailor their repertoire to suit your musical preferences, whilst mainly performing as a five piece band that includes vocals, piano, double bass, drums and saxophone they can scale up or down as required to perform as a two, three and four piece or 10 piece act depending on your requirements.
The band has performed at such venues as Luttrellstown Castle, the Punchestown Races; the Royal Hospital kilmainham for the Irish president (Mary Mcaleese) and the Trinity college Law Society Swing Ball 2009. The Swing Cats perform nationwide at private events, wedding receptions and a host of other social and corporate events. With a proven track record this is a band that can deliver a full dancefloor everytime. The Swig Cats are Irelands answer to “Real Swing Music”.
